Wedding photo and video editing for Toronto and GTA photographers

Outsourced culling, colour editing and film editing for Toronto, Brampton and Mississauga studios: South Asian multi-day weddings, banquet halls, summer volume.

If you shoot weddings in Toronto, Brampton, Mississauga or anywhere in the 905, your summer probably doesn’t look like a normal wedding season. It looks like back-to-back weekends of multi-event weddings, a banquet hall on Saturday night and a mehndi on Thursday, two shooters per event and hard drives that fill faster than you can cull them.

This guide is for GTA photographers and filmmakers deciding whether to outsource some of that editing: what changes for multi-day weddings, how we handle the light in GTA venues, and how prices and timing work from Toronto.

Why GTA studios outsource editing

The GTA has a very large South Asian community. Statistics Canada counts about 2.57 million South Asian people in Canada in the 2021 Census, 7.1% of the population, and CIC News puts about 1.1 million of them in the Toronto CMA, which includes Brampton and Mississauga. For many local studios, that means a season built around weddings with several events each.

The editing pressure that creates is specific:

  • Several events per couple, each with its own light and its own gallery or film.
  • Two or more shooters, so twice the frames to cull and twice the angles to sync.
  • Weekends that overlap. A Sunday reception for one couple and a Thursday mehndi for the next, before the first is edited.
  • Big guest lists and long days. Every elder and every side of the family needs to be in it, and the days run late.

Add the regular summer wedding calendar on top, with Niagara vineyards and Muskoka lakes, and the backlog builds quickly between June and October.

South Asian weddings, event by event

Coverage in the GTA is often booked per event, so we edit per event too and tie the look together at the end.

Event What we watch in the edit
Haldi Turmeric yellow that stays bright on clothes without turning skin sallow
Mehndi Bright decor and outfits without orange skin; henna detail that stays deep and readable
Sangeet Stage light and coloured washes on skin; noise in the dancing; keeping the energy of the colour
Baraat Outdoor light, often hard; fast movement in the cull; drone where you flew it
Wedding day Every key moment in order; vivid reds and golds that clip easily; clean audio in films
Reception Entrances, speeches and family portraits under mixed hall light

For films, the usual shape is one film per event plus a highlight across all of them. If you shoot stills and film at the same wedding, we edit them side by side so the grade matches across both.

How pricing works for these. Multi-day and big weddings are charged at our standard package prices, with no special quote and no surcharge. One Wedding gallery covers up to 3,000 raws across the whole wedding, all events together. Add a Highlight film across the week if you shot film, and list the events and shooters in the brief.

Family coverage. Send a must-have list of people and groups, with a few reference frames of the key family members. We cull against that list and flag anyone we couldn’t find, so you can check before the couple does. You know the family; the list is how we use what you know.

Venue light: banquet halls, tungsten and LED walls

GTA receptions often happen in large banquet halls, with a mix of light the camera doesn’t love: warm tungsten chandeliers, colour-changing uplights, LED walls behind the stage and your own flash on top.

How we grade it:

  • White balance for skin under the main light first. Then deal with the coloured spill using HSL or local masks, rather than dragging the whole frame neutral.
  • Keep some of the room’s colour. A hall uplit in purple and graded to grey looks wrong to the people who were there.
  • Tame LED walls. They often clip or band behind the couple. Pull highlights locally so the stage doesn’t swallow the faces.
  • Match flash and ambient frames so the dance floor doesn’t flip between two looks.
  • Reduce noise before any grain on high-ISO frames.

Our Bayside wedding film shows purple uplighting held back so skin stays human.

Niagara, Muskoka and summer weddings outside the city

Plenty of GTA studios also shoot outside the city in summer: vineyard weddings in Niagara, lakeside and cottage-country weddings in Muskoka, barns and estates across Ontario.

These bring their own editing jobs:

  • Vineyard greens and golden hour. Vine rows and lawns get loud when you lift exposure, and late sun can push skin orange. We hold greens back and warm skin locally.
  • Lake light. Bright water behind the couple and reflections on faces from the dock. Highlights first, then faces.
  • Barns and tents. Dim interiors with string lights. Clean the noise without losing the texture of the wood.
  • Mixed weather. A grey morning ceremony and a clear evening reception, graded so they belong to the same day.

All of these are standard wedding galleries and films, at the prices below.

Prices in CAD, the same for every wedding

Prices are fixed in Canadian dollars, and the same packages apply to multi-day weddings, with the Wedding gallery’s 3,000 raws counted across all the days together:

Package What you get Price
Engagement gallery 100–200 images from up to 1,000 raws, Lightroom catalogue, 2 revisions C$70
Wedding gallery 300–500 images from up to 3,000 raws, Lightroom catalogue, up to 3 revisions C$110
Highlight film 5–8 minutes, 1–3 cameras plus drone, project file, 2 revisions C$140
Feature film 15–40 minutes, vows and speeches in full, 1-minute teaser, 3 revisions C$205
Signature Wedding gallery plus Feature film, one grade across both C$275

Add-ons: Social reels (three 9:16 cuts) C$55, Drone-only edit C$40, Album design (20 spreads) C$80. Rush is 72 hours for +50% on the whole order. If you send five projects a month, the retainer takes 15% off.

Time zone: a team that works around the clock

Toronto is 9 hours behind Pakistan in summer and 10 hours behind in winter. Pakistan doesn’t change its clocks, so the gap only moves when Ontario does.

In practice, the gap matters less than it sounds, because our editing team works 24 hours a day, in shifts. Send a wedding at any hour and the link is picked up soon after it arrives. That doesn’t mean overnight delivery: standard turnaround is seven business days from the point your link works and the brief is complete, with weekends and Canadian public holidays not counted.

Your raws stay in your own Dropbox, Google Drive, WeTransfer, pCloud or Box. We download working copies from your link and delete them once the project and its revisions are finished, unless you ask us to keep them. Our data processing terms have the detail, and our post on PIPEDA and Quebec’s Law 25 covers what Canadian privacy rules ask of you when you outsource.

Start with one event or one wedding

  • Send one wedding, or one event from a multi-day wedding, as your free trial. Your first Gallery project or Highlight film is free, with no card.
  • See South Asian events and every other shoot type we take on in what we edit, and finished galleries and films in our work.
  • Ready to send a whole multi-day wedding? Use send a project and list the events in the brief.
  • Compare every package in CAD on packages, and see the day-by-day plan on how it works.

Behind already? Our September and October backlog plan is written for exactly this part of the year.

Questions photographers ask

More in the FAQ.

Do you edit South Asian weddings for GTA photographers?

Yes: haldi, mehndi, sangeet, baraat, the wedding day and the reception, as galleries and films. Multi-day and big weddings are charged at our standard package prices, with no special quote, and the Wedding gallery covers up to 3,000 raws across all the events together.

How much does wedding photo editing cost for a Toronto studio?

A Wedding gallery is C$110 for 300 to 500 culled and graded images from up to 3,000 raws, and an Engagement gallery is C$70. A Highlight film is C$140. Prices are fixed in CAD.

What is the time difference between Toronto and your team?

Toronto is 9 hours behind Pakistan in summer and 10 in winter. Our editing team works in shifts around the clock, so a project sent in your evening is picked up soon after it arrives. Delivery is still seven business days.

Can you handle banquet hall lighting and LED walls?

Yes. We set white balance for skin under the main light and handle coloured spill from uplights and LED walls with local adjustments, keeping some of the venue colour so the room still looks like the room.
